WIGAN PARISH CHURCH

Parish Organisations

Fundraising

We began fundraising in 2004 to help with the funding of the Lottery Grant for the restoration of the Tower, Pinnacles, Glass and Roof. In the first year we raised £8,000 the second £10,000 It has also helped with the social life of the Church. Below are details and pictures of some of our fundraising events.

Car Boot Sale

This year will be our fourth car boot sale on the car park of the local high school. Its always an early start but brings in over a £1000

Coffee and………..

We try at least once a month during the church open days to put on a coffee and something sale in the Bluecoat School. We’ve had coffee and shoes, coffee and plants, coffee and brick a brack and coffee and produce sales.

They generally raise £200—£300

Quiz Night

Once a year we have the ever popular Quiz Night held in the Scout Headquarters,

for the last two years the Rectors team has won, but last year failed to make it a ’hat trick’

Fun for all the family.

Promise Auction 2007

The venue for the Promise Auction  changed this year to the Rectory. For those who don’t know, people are asked to donate ‘lots’, these can be anything from 1hours ironing, Chinese meal for four, a trip up the tower, or even an all expenses trip to the theatre.

These items are then auctioned off and the highest bidder wins. It was once again a very exciting evening raising a magnificent sum of £1435

Events planned this year include

Rectors Games Evening

Wigan Youth Brass Band Concert

Car Boot

Barn Dance

Promise Auction

Carol Singing

and of course the Quiz Night
