The Environment Award

As you will all no doubt be aware, there has recently been a great deal of work carried out at our Headquarters in Delph Street.

We have waited over 18 months for the work to be carried out but now it has started, this allows us to progress very quickly with the plans that we have.

Throughout 2007 every member of the Group will be involved in an ongoing environmental project in and around the Headquarters.

This will involve further general clearance of the area, the construction of a memorial garden, planting new trees, shrubs and hundreds of flowers and bulbs, continuing to paint the Headquarters and erecting bird houses and bird tables etc.

This will involve everyone at the Group and we would also like to invite perents and supporters to involve themselves in our environmental activities.

Our aim is for each child to gain their Environment Award and by participating in our environmental plans; this will ensure they achieve all the requirements to successfully attain the award.

The Environment Award is about encouraging young people to develop a sustainable lifestyle. That is, a way of life that has a minimal impact on the environment. It is designed to bring a Group together to promote an environmentally friendly way of living.’
